Inside the Apollo Online Database: What Saves Exist and How to Contribute

The Online Database is the library behind Apollo’s in-app save downloads: a community project on GitHub called apollo-saves, maintained by bucanero with saves contributed by users. This page is about the library itself — the separate how-to guide covers using it inside the app.

How It’s Organised

  • Saves are stored per platform (PS3, PS4, PS Vita…) and per game Title ID — the code like BLUS12345 printed on the game’s case and save folders.
  • Each game’s folder carries a saves.txt index describing the saves inside (progress point, character state, what’s unlocked).
  • Apollo fetches an index from the project’s GitHub Pages hosting when you open the Online Database menu.

An Honest Word About Size

The project’s own README says it plainly: the list of available games is still limited, and it grows only when users contribute. That honesty is worth repeating because third-party sites sometimes market the database as a giant complete archive. It isn’t — it’s a good and growing community shelf, strongest on popular titles.

Using Downloaded Saves — The One Rule

Every downloaded save is encrypted to its contributor’s account. Re-signing is mandatory before a game will load it: PS4 · PS3. Most “the downloaded save doesn’t work” reports are this step being skipped.

Contributing Your Saves

  1. Export a worthwhile save with Apollo (a 100% completion save, a New Game+ start, a rare unlock state).
  2. Follow the contribution instructions in the apollo-saves GitHub repository — saves are submitted per Title ID with a description for the index.
  3. Your contributed save can then help every Apollo user stuck on that game.

Good Candidates

Completion saves are the most requested category — our guide to using 100% saves explains the etiquette and the trophy caveats that come with them.
